A new Zelda at this E3? Don't count on it.

"The folks at Nintendo love taking their sweet time with their heavy-hitters, and The Legend of Zelda is no exception. In the 23 years since The Legend of Zelda first graced the Nintendo Entertainment System, only six other games in the series have hit home consoles. Six games in 23 years. That works out to roughly one game every 3.83 years, and it's been less than 2.5 years since Twilight Princess was released."

Wow, it turned out a little longer than expected. Reasons against it appearing at E3 just kept coming to me!

As Kyle said in the comments, after only recently announcing Choo Choo Zelda (lulz) on the DS; I doubt they'd want to divert attention away from that with a console iteration of Zelda.

I'm just hoping we get something good at E3. Just something...

Like I said in the poll results, "After all, we have to leave some space for Pikmin 3 to shine, don't we?"

In 2004, Nintendo had Paper Mario TTYD, Pikmin 2, and Metroid Prime 2. You can make an argument that these games come from Nintendo's various development teams, but none of them really steal the spotlight from each other since they are of different genres.

While I feel the possibility of a new Zelda announcement is likely, I think that other Nintendo franchises (Star Fox? PLEASE???) are going to have a higher likely hood of showing up. Even if a new Zelda is announced, it would probably release in late 2010 at the earliest.

KID ICARUS!!!!11Eleven (?)

 It's true, the possibility of Nintendo announcing something like Pikmin 3 (or maybe even StarFox) seems quite high to me.
