Remember when Nintendo's logo was red and they changed it to gray? Did anyone actually notice it before it was posted on GoNintendo? I didn't notice it until I looked at my Wii boxes today. Metroid Prime 3's box had the red Nintendo logo, whereas Mario Galaxy's box had a white Nintendo logo, possibly to make it show up more on the darker background. Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Smash Bros., and Link's Crossbow training have either white or gray logos.

I think there were 100 or so comments on that one post, most complaining about how it's a sign that Nintendo's losing their way with the hardcore audience. I got a few laughs after the initial facepalm, but seriously, it's just a colour change.

Yeah, my comment was:

"Well, I’ll kinda miss the bright happiness of the red, but the new grey version ain’t gonna kill me or anything.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna cuddle up to my NES and dream of the good ol’ days."

So yeah, I'll miss it a little, but I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it.

As for did I notice... Well, the logo was white in Animal Crossing: Wild World at start-up, wasn't it? That's probably the earliest non-red logo right there.
