I turned it on one day...and my save file was GONE!!!!!! I. Am. Heartbroken. Save file coruptions always leave me sad and dejected...especially in RPGs...I spent alot of time collecting beans, beating EVERY enemy, leveling up...AAAHHH!!! I just don't have the perserverance to start again...>.> The same thing happened during a game of Spyro on GCN, I had printed out a 100% complete walkthrough and was devoting alot of time into that as well...I never went back and COMPLETELY beat that game...

Did you try removing the cartridge, blowing on both the chip and in the slot, putting it back in, and trying again? That works sometimes.

If it doesn't, damn, that really sucks...

@ PD: Yes, I did that for a few hours until my sister ripped it out of my hands, threw cold water on my face and slapped me...

@ WJUK: How do you back up GBA games?

Erm... GBA games... uh... well I recall that some 3rd party publishers released some stuff that could back-up GBA games. But during my whole history with my GBA never once did it crap out on me, now that I think about it. Nintendo just seem to have the "magic".

I pulled out my old GameBoy (the old old one, the brick) and I thought: 'hm... I wonder if it still works?' This was also the GB that was stuffed at the bottom of the draw because it didn't work after I spilled some water on it or something, I just put in some new batteries and BAM! It works! Nintendo handhelds have some sort of self-healing nanobots or something, I spent the next few hours playing Mario Golf... oh yea.

(I still have my SEGA GameGear)

Oh no. :-(

Superstar Saga is one of my (only) favorite RPG's. It is the only game that has made the RPG genre really fun for me. In fact, it's where my name came from: in the beginning, Bowser says "Don't be modest, Mr. Green!" as he tries to abduct Luigi into his Koopa Kruiser.

I got up to the second form of the final boss, and I keep dying. I still never made it past it to this day. I really need to beat it and see the ending...despite the fact that I'm pretty disconnected from the game now.

I would die if my save was gone.

Tbh, I've been pretty lucky with video games. I think I've only ever had one time where I had a corrupted save file and that wasn't too serious (was some game on the PS2). But I recall breaking the Famicon (yes I had the famicon AND the NES - even if they were practically the same). I literally gamed it to death, since it started smoking! It ended up in a bucket of water... I still have my NES till this day though.

The SNES next... yea, that didn't go to well... I'm not sure how it broke but it did. I don't remember now.

Sega Mega Drive (Genesis). This broke only a few years ago. One Summer I was rummaging through some old stuff (Spring cleaning) and I found the Mega Drive and thought: 'Hm... I haven't played Sonic in a while...' So I plugged it all up, dusted off some dust and played Sonic 2! It was amazing to play again, but without any saves I played the WHOLE DAY to complete it. Especially the water levels... ¬¬ Then when I tried it the following day (to play Streets of Rage II) it didn't work. I literally was like: 'NOOOOO!!!'

Then finally the PS2, I stood on it. It took some time to repair but I got it back. Eventually.

That's pretty much the history of my console disasters.

Found this thread at the bottom, and I thought what the heck, let's revive it, seeing as I can relate with my lost memory in all my wii games, especially SMG, and SSBB.
