GDC 2009 - Iwata's Keynote

Postby WJUK on Wed Mar 25, 2009 5:34 pm

So, Iwata held a conference type thingy today at GDC.

Apart from the usual sales numbers etc. here's some more info:
>SD card storage solution announced (UPDATE 4.0 IS OUT NOW)
>Rock 'N Roll Climber officially announced and shown
>Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Dark Lord announced for WiiWare (due out later this year)
>FFIV: The After Years also due out this year
>Final Fantasy hitting VC, more in the series to follow
>New Zelda DS game announced: "The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks"

So, what do you guys think?

Forget all of the other stuff, the storage solution is worth its storage weight in gold. I was humming "Ode to Joy" as I tried it out.

As for the Zelda game, I really need to see a trailer. Is this a direct sequel or the start of a different Link? If it's a direct sequel to Phantom Hourglass, I think this would be the first time in series history that there is a second direct sequel.
The Goose shall speak once more.

The Wii now supports 32GB SD Cards. That's more then my 360. ¬¬

XD

Anyway, Zelda Trailer. The first one is a cam from the keynote, the other is the official one.
I think it looks good, but that's mainly because I enjoyed PH so much. It looks to improve and expand upon PH. Not sure if it is a direct sequel though.
