Gidday guys

Postby zapster on Sun Jan 20, 2008 4:22 am

G'day guys. Zapster here from little ol' NZ near the bottom of the World!!

Ahh, New Zealand. The best place to buy over -priced game months and months after they are released elsewhere. Damn I love PAL gaming.

I own a PS1, and XBox and a Wii. Nothing like one of each over three generations huh? Handhelds are GBA and DS. Due to my cash mainly going to my university fund, I have only bought 2 consoles/handhelds (DS and Wii) whereas the other ones I am given for Birthday etc... I always loved gaming but I was not allowed to get a console and our PC sucked, so I waited till I went to friends and played there. That is until I got given a PS1 when I was about 11... And well... the rest is (not really) history! Favourite games are: Halo 2 multiplayer (I like Halo, sue me) Mario Galaxy, Zelda and Star Wars Battlefront 2.

I am really enjoying Avatar - The Last Airbender (or the Legend of Aang as it is over here) as it has a really interesting story line, history and characters.

I think that is it really.

So... Hi.

Hey man, welcome to the site! Linked from Go Nintendo, I take it?

Also, Avatar is awesome. I keep missing it, though... It plays at the exact same time I'm at my bowling league :ack:

I'm in 5-pin, though. I don't think they even have that in the States.

Nope, have no idea what 5-pin is...
Those crazy Canadians with their hockey, 5-pin, and professional lumber jacking.

5-pin is just like normal bowling, but with five pins instead of ten. Although you may have guessed that already by the name :P

And hey, you Americans have hockey, too. You also have our Sidney Crosby... Send him back home to Newfoundland

Yea, GoNintendo, I occasionally comment there. I always read what you said and agreed so well, as soon as you started this, I was reading. Never felt the need to join the forums, but figured, why not? :)

Ooh thanks duck :D

Yeah, avatar is a great show... There are ways of watching online, doesn't nick host it too??? Or you could watch it at one of the fan sites for people who can't watch it without the internet...

But... 5pin?!?!?!?! Crazy Canadians!!! What's wrong with 10 pins?? :P

Well, since Avatar is made by Americans (sure it is animated in Korea or something) is it really anime?? :O

Thanks. :D

Thanks for the welcomes guys, i feel at home here. (that is why I have posted nearly 30 messages in less than a day ;) (very unusual for me in a forum, if I actually join. The reason I joined here was cos I agreed with Duck and well you guys seem cool to talk to. ;))

Well, in Japan 'anime' just refers to animation in general but for most english-speakers 'anime' refers to material that comes out of Japan. So, depends on how you look at it.

Ahh, ok then. I was looking at it the second way. And Avatar is really the only "anime" or really one of the only TV programs I watch. So not sure if I would really count as an "anime" fan at all though :P

I'm exactly the same way, man. I haven't really watched an authentic anime series in ages. Although I have seen a few anime movies lately, like Armitage III, Akira and AppleSEED.

...they all start with the letter "A". Weird

@zapster: My logic: Your a fan of Avatar (which is an anime) therefore Anime fan. That's how I look at it anyway, or you could just be an Avatar fan.

@Duck: You seem to be making your way through the alphabet.
