Mini-Article: A new genre of gaming

Postby PsychoDuck on Thu May 08, 2008 4:41 am

"Every time an appropriate movie comes out, a game developer makes a video game adaption of it. In fact, sometimes the movie doesn't even have to be a good fit for a game conversion and it'll still be made (See: Alvin and the Chipmunks). But what if we were to take a different look at movie games? What if, instead of your standard platformer or FPS adaptions, we instead had...

...interactive movies?
"

Full Brain Fart Here

This doesn't quite constitute a mini-article. So it's a brain-fart. Enjoy.

How is that movie anyway...I keep hearing about it but I haven't watched it yet...

As for the idea, I know what you mean, and I think it would be fun too. I really like the idea of talking to people and getting the inside scoop about not-aired stuff in the movie.

I love Cloverfield. Awesome, awesome stuff.

And I'm glad someone understood what I meant XD

I sort of understand what you're getting at, although your ideas seem to be all over the place. :P
Which makes understanding it so much harder.

Although for Cloverfield I think it'd be better if we were Hud and we got to see everything through his eyes (basically the camera in the film). You can still do anything, and the Cinematics would be rendered with the in-game engine so you can look around even when in a cinematic.

Or something like that.

Seems like a good idea, instead of making all the bad movie games that come out. Make the movie interactive, and I would've never thought of getting the inside scoop of the movie.
