"Mario has taken on many different jobs over the years. From his base occupation of plumber, Nintendo's mascot has also been a soccer player, tennis star, kart racer and even a toy factory tycoon. None of these jobs would have been possible, though, had it not been for the NES title Dr. Mario. This was the first Mario game ever to portray him as something other than a plumber (Excluding his "Jumpman" persona in Donkey Kong), and it paved the way for many genre-breaking games starring everyone's favourite Italian plumber. Another week passed, another five days without enough sleep...

I just want to point out this comic:





Nice review. I never played the original Dr Mario games before (I did play the Virus Buster minigame in Brain Training though). And you made me seriously think of picking this up.

I do like Virus Buster better, and that glitch that you talked about is not a glitch, it's a strategy put into the game.

I think I'll pass. Never really got into Dr. Mario, I was always a Tetris freak. That's why I can't wait to get my hands on that new Tetris game that uses the balance board.
