Biggest "What the heck?!" moments!

Postby NintenDood on Sat Jan 10, 2009 3:26 am

Alright, this thread is about telling something that happened to you that was just so weird, but true.
I guess I'll start w/ one of my own. So I was playing my DS one day (Metroid Prime Hunters) at someone's house. The person who lived there had a friend come by with her son, and he happened to see me playing my DS. He begged and begged and begged, so I let him play around with it. No more than 30 seconds later, he returns it to me, but here's the weird part... In less then 30 SECONDS, he managed to delete all my files I had saved for MPH. I was so mad the reast of that day, because of that, and because I didn't even know how to delete my files, even if I wanted to!

Haha!

One of the most recent "What the heck?!" moments was the first time I saw the generator-moving exploit in Left 4 Dead. 'Cos in "No Mercy" there's a part where the survivors have to get into an elevator and when the doors opened again... there was a generator blocking the way. Serious WTF moment at that point, since neither of my team-mates had seen this before either. We ended up holding out for about 15 minutes in the elevator and eventually killed ourselves in a Battle-Royale style game. We would see who would survive and how long he/she would survive for. XD

Well, there are always the times one is looking for something; like really looking for it. Like, you're hunting through the couch cushions for this, this... thing and no matter where you look it's nowhere to be found.

BECAUSE YOU'RE ALREADY HOLDING IT.

And it's not entirely applicable, but I seriously almost stopped playing the original Metal Gear Solid when I confronted Psycho Mantis for the first time.

(Not exact quote)
So, you like to play Castlevania; and Suikoden.

Anyways, does anyone have any tips on going about what amounts to uploading a 25 second audio track to Youtube (I'm on Mac OS X)? For the other WTF moment (maybe not entirely applicable as well), I need to rip an audio track, then find a way to get it to you nice people.

And NintenDood; that's almost impressive how he pulled that off :P; Reminds me of the time my brother tripped over our SNES power cord on when I was playing Chrono Trigger. Yanked the console from it's position on the floor, and the cable out of it; and somehow erased all memory on the cartridge. No saves, no New Game+ option... it was like a new cartridge (AND WE HAD GOTTEN CRONO TO LEVEL 98 :!: ).

I remember when I was first playing Ocarina of time, I was exploring Hyrule field for the first time because it was so overwhelming. When I finally got to the draw bridge, it closed and night time came. Then I got killed by what I thought to be zombies at the time. Durrrrrrrrrrrrr.
The Goose shall speak once more.

Haha Psychomantis was awesome. It was doubly hilarious when my friend was playing it.

"So you like to play Castlevania!"

"Yea, I do actu- WAIT, WHAT?!"

I literally spent the next 10 mins ROFLing in front of him as he tried to figure out how to beat PM.
