I can't believe your birthday is so close. Only negative 3 days to go.

Thanks anyway, even if it was late.

Good luck on your driving test. Just stay calm, you won't believe how much that helps.

I've found something we can disagree about, there's no such thing as Global Warming.

Whether global-warming exists or not, getting a "green" car is still more people-friendly. I'd rather walk behind a Smart Car and breathe clean air than walk behind a normal car and get a lungful of exhaust. Blech.

"Green" aside, I'd rather be seen in something 'other' than a Smart Car :P

(Not just for looks, but the things just don't look safe enough; after a lady tried a U-turn from the wrong lane, smashing my car from the side, I tend to pay alot more attention to things like that. I was in a '04 Lexus LS (a rather solid vehicle), and got shoved into the opposing lanes; I'd fear the Smart would be tipped over.)

Actually, for it's small demeanour the SMART car (the small looking one) is quite sturdy. Since it has a steel chassis, I know this because some guys rammed one at 60mph into a concrete wall. :D

Deceptively strong, those Smart Cars. Also, if you still don't want one, Ceph, I remember there being a "green" SUV released about a year or two ago. Not sure who it was made by, though... Chrysler?

How about a Tata Nano? It was released in India a couple of months ago. But seriously, at least get an electric car, or upgrade it to run on Ethanol.

And as for Global Warming, it does exist, just look at the evidence, go watch "An Inconvenient Truth", a great documentary by Al Gore, the should've been president. But I guess you're blind to the evidence, just like OJ simpson's judge.

Well the UK's definitely getting warming.

You can always get a hybrid I guess.

1. I own an Inconvenient Truth (It's sitting right next to me). See, I like to look at all of the evidence of a problem before I chose where I stand on it.

2. Al Gore is a liberal democrat that is only powered by a false sense of the environment.

3. OJ Simpson should be rotting in a jail cell right now, but it wasn't the judge's fault, it was the juries fault.

Come on now, folks, let's not turn this into another big debate. If you really want to discuss this in detail, please make a thread for it.

(This is more in response to the car topic, not global warming): While I don't really subscribe to the global warming thing, the main reason I'd consider a hybrid or some such vehicle is the gas mileage. However, I don't want the Smart thing due to the size (safety concerns, and I tend to do stuff with several friends from time to time); I'll avoid Nissan's hybrids like the plague (too much of a delay between hitting the gas pedal and the engine kicking in). The Prius is actually pretty good, seems to get up and go (and pretty smooth between pedal/engine response), but my dad's heard from Toyota mechanics (we do window tinting for a toyota dealer) that the transmission (I think) tends to go out after x000 miles, and costs several thousand dollars to fix (can't remember mileage number; sorry). I've also heard that Honda's hybrid offerings are pretty nice.

So yeah... when I buy a car, it'll probably be a standard, non-hybrid something-or-other, as the hybrids are still more expensive.

@Psychoduck: I don't know if it's what you're referring to, but I believe Chevy has a hybrid Tahoe available, which I've heard is still pretty good for a hybrid SUV.

Yea, hybrids are too expensive. But they sell anyway.

If you're mainly going to be driving around a city I would recommend a G Whiz (or REVA). Since it's electric. But if you're going to go on drives in the motorways this is a big NO NO.
