Well, this year was pretty damn good, but next year looks to top it, especially game-wise.

Last year, when I was a Wii-only guy, I was hyped for about 4 games. Now I'm hyped for more than 8 Wii games.

I know what you mean. Originally I only had a Wii and was only really looking forward to SMG, SSBB, MP3 and some other games but now that I have a 360, my games radar has expanded a lot as well.

I hear ya. Now that I'm into PC gaming my scope has increased dramatically.

Owning more than 1 console can be quite demanding sometimes, especially under low funding. The Wii's lackluster holiday line-up allowed me to build up my 360 collection. On the flip-side, most of '09 seems to be populated by Wii releases, which is a good thing because there's only 2 360 games I'm interested in. My wallet is saved!

If you have the money to get into PC gaming (buying the latest tech can be really costly) then it is obviously the best way to go. But for most people, we'll stick to the cheap consoles. :D
You can't beat the library of games on the PC though.

As for 360 games in 2009... well, there are actually quite a few I'm interested in getting. Halo Wars, Halo ODST, SFIV, LOTR: Conquest, the new COD4:MW2, Star Ocean, maybe even in the new FF. It's not a bad year, but I think PS3 are getting quite a few good games though.

Just wanted to pop in and say Happy New Year... for most of you anyways. As of this typing, it is still 9:36 PM. Time zones are the best. :) :)

Happy New Year!

I'm about 13 hours late but who cares! I was pre-occupied last night anyway, couldn't get to the internet.

Happy New Year everyone! :)
I just beat Prince of Persia a few minutes ago, and that ending was so good. Totally unexpected, yet you knew it had to be coming, because the whole game was building up to this one point. It's probably one of the best endings to a game this year (Besides MGS4). Now I've got The World Ends With You to finish! :D

Yes, happy new year to everyone! So far we haven't exploded, so 2009's looking like a good year.

Yeah, but it's still way too early to judge. I predict something stupid will become an internet craze and we will all be annoyed by it.

Next Doomsday year I know of is the year 2077 (as foretold by Fallout 3).

POSSIBLE MISC GAME SPOILER ALERTS (I don't think they are, but YOU ARE WARNED)
Crystalis: 1998
Chrono Trigger: 1999

...and last I heard, there was no Lavos or *Ican'tquiterememberwhathappenedinCrystalis* to end the world.

All that aside, a totally late Happy New Year to everyone :!:

And I so need to bust out Crystalis again.

Well, as they say, you start the year as you intend to go on. And last night I'm pretty sure my friends and I were slumped on the couch playing brawl and Mario Kart. :D

On Destructoid, one of the writers was at a 4th of July party on top of somebody's roof in LA. Anyway, there was so many fireworks in the sky that somebody on some random rooftop next to the Destuctoid writer screamed, "It's the day of Lavos!"

...was that really necessary?? I mean, every year there are a few points throughout where I'll read something and be like "That's the coolest thing I've heard/read all year"; every few months I'll come across a "new" "coolest thing I've heard/read all year". Then you had to come along and tell me that on the second day of the new year, and so promise me I'll have nothing cooler to look forward to reading/hearing.

Thanks.

Hope y'all had a merry christmas/hannukah/kwanzaa/whatever else holidays, and a happy new year. I got to spend them both with my family, so I've been away the comp for awhile, just enough to keep me from fulfilling my "post more often" promise. It turns out that box shaped like an xbox was actually filled with clothes and $50 to go to my 360 fund. I also got Rock Band 1 for the Wii, which is still fun nonetheless, and Monopoly, the World Edition. What I hate though is that Monopoly is supposed to be played with cash, not just a credit card.

Went to Little Tokyo yesterday; some friends were going, so I figured I'd tag along.

They were ecstatic to find whatever little figures they were looking for (can't remember name of anime/manga they were from), and I bought the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya novel (or 涼宮ハルヒの憂鬱/suzumiya haruhi no yuuutsu, as it's the original Japanese light novel). And bought several cans of Calipico. One of my friends gave me a can, and I needed more. So I bought seven (wish I had the money for more, as I'll run out well before I return to Little Tokyo (THERE'S ONLY FIVE LEFT  )).

And while in one of the markets, my friend saw this:

So I said what any self respecting internet nerd would say:
[spoil]MY POCKYMENS; LET ME SHOW YOU THEM.[/spoil]

And had some really good Chicken Teriyaki + rice for dinner.

Good Times.

(also got Windows Messenger going again (name = Ceph), and signed up at twitter for the heck of it (name = _Ceph_ ))

EDIT [s](because posting twice in a row is WASTEFUL)[/s]: My mom put a portable TV/DVD thing on the treadmill, so score :!: (I can now watch something OTHER THAN the Suzumiya Haruhi no Gekisou concert (it's on my ipod) ...don't get me wrong: the concert's great, but re-watching one hour of the nearly-two hour show, every day for two weeks, not so much.)

Just went to see Taken with my parents. Was extremely good; highly recommended. Gets going quick enough, and generally keeps the tempo up throughout. May go see it again if I can get some friends interested.
