Ok, I thought I might as well condense this all into one topic. It'll probably be easier to keep track of that way. The same will probably be done with Nintendo and Sony Press Conferences.

I watched it (just finished now) and here is a summary:
*PORTAL: STILL ALIVE dated 2008 for XBL
*FALLOUT 3 getting exclusive DLC for 360 and PC (demoed)
*RESIDENT EVIL 5 coming March 2009 (demoed); showed off online co-op
*FABLE 2 coming October 2008 (demoed); showed new online feature where friends can jump into your game with a touch of a button
*GEARS OF WAR 2 coming November 2008 (demoed)
*Avatars and new dashboard interface (surprise!)
*XBOX LIVE PRIMETIME (similar to a game show channel sort of thing)
    *GALAGA LEGIONS announced
*LIPS was announced; a singing game
*YOU'RE IN THE MOVIES announced; creates a movie using Live Vision Camera
*Netflix partnering with Microsoft to provide video content
*ROCK BAND 2 tracklist announced: Photo here
*Square-enix (Yoichi Wada) talks about their three games heading to 360: INFINITE UNDISCOVERY, STAR OCEAN: THE LAST HOPE, THE LAST REMNANT

That's all.

...

You'd think! Just before it finished, the Wada jumps back in and goes: "Hey. Look at this video."
And yes... IT FINALLY HAPPENED.

FINAL FANTASY XIII HAS GONE MULTI-PLATFORM

Just to clarify: FFXIII is coming to the 360.

I think that about summarises it. Feel free to add more to this if I've missed something. (I missed the first 5/10 minutes of the conference btw)

I watched most of it. For some reason, I laughed my head off at the FFXIII announcement; probably because I've had to read lots (lots) of message board posts about how it's not possible, and how FFXIII is too advanced for the 360 to handle.

Fallout 3 and Fable 2 looked really good though. I dunno if it's G4, or my brother's tv or what, but Resident Evil 5's color/art direction looked far too muted. Everything had a monochrome/sepia look to it. I didn't like it.

I was totally blindsided by that. I figured that it wouldn't happen, especially when Wada finished talking and went offstage. Then he came back and said: "Wait. I have one more BIG announcement."

And I was like: "HOLY ****, here it is." I knew it was going to be FFXIII... I just knew it.

Fallout 3 and Fable 2 looks amazing. And I think RE5 looked fine; didn't look as colourful as the trailers it seems but still looked good. (And Sepia-looking/very grayish is practically an industry standard now!)

I can't wait for the new menu interface, but the FFXIII announcement really blew me away (even though I don't care about Final Fantasy). At this point Sony can't afford to lose another exclusive.

The new dashboard looks good, simpler and minimalistic. That's a good thing.
